Adult Obedience Foundations
THIS COURSE IS FOR DOGS FROM 6 MTHS +
NEW COURSE DATES NOW AVAILABLE FOR 2025.
WHERE? These are live group courses held in various locations around Mandurah, Western Australia, dependent on that weeks training goals and weather. You will be notified the week before via text about the exact location of the class.
I DON’T LIVE NEAR YOU, CAN I STILL GET TRAINING? If you do not live near us we will be launching an APP later in the year so you can get access to all these courses and train where ever you and your dog may be.
Groups are a small size so you get individual attention (5-10 people).
ADULT OBEDIENCE FOUNDATIONS $540
This course is for pups 6 months and older. This course runs for 6 sessions over several weeks (see where you select course day for dates.)
Would you like to have a well behaved, happy, confident dog that doesn’t pull on the lead, can do all the basic commands?
You will learn how to do a perfect:
SIT
DOWN
STOP - stop your dog from running across a busy road
LEAVE IT - get your dog to stop eating items, chasing birds, bikes etc and leave people and dogs alone
HEEL
Teach your dog how to stay on their PLACE (bed) - answer the doorbell without having your dog barking at or jumping on visitors
LOOSE LEASH WALKING - Walk beautifully on a LOOSE LEASH
RECALLS - and have GOOD RECALL on a long line all in high distraction environments ( for reliable off leash work purchase our OFF LEASH EXTRAS COURSE add on for competition level results. See below for details)
You will also learn how dogs learn and think, how to use timing and markers for faster results, how to get your dog motivated and paying attention to you and much more.
Equipment you will need:
Raised metal frame dog bed,
Flat Collar & Training collar (eg are slip/metal choker collar or pinch/prong collar. Type of collar is dependent on whether your dog is already pulling hard on a flat collar. If you have a small dog, like a Shitzu or Maltese that doesn’t pull on the leash much a flat collar is fine. If your dog pulls on a flat collar you will need a choker chain. If you have a large dog that you are having trouble controlling/holding you will need a pinch collar. Depending on stock we have choker chains and pinch collars available. No matter what collar you will use, the dog will learn quickly how to stay on a loose lead and will not hurt themselves using any type of collar. Please contact us for more information if your not sure what collar to use. Absolutely no harnesses are to be used in training as they are ineffective for necessary directional work.)
Normal flat leash 1.6-1.8m long, no or short bungee leashes. We have double handled ones available for sale.
A ball or tug with a rope
Lots of your dogs favourite treats
IMPORTANT: If your dog has any reactivity (anxious/timid dogs ok, or if only a bit leash reactive but fine off leash they are suited to this course) but if they are lunging or snapping at other dogs and people we recommend you do the Reactive Course 1.0 instead. We can test your dog to see which course it needs before we start, please call us if you’re not sure. Also PLEASE NOTE: The first session runs for around 2 hours the other sessions will be around and hour in length.
OFF LEASH EXTRAS COURSE $280
Want total control of your off leash dog?
The Off Leash Extras Course will allow you to have reliable control of your dog off leash in any situation. You will learn how to have competition level results. This course is an e-collar course will automatically lead on from the Obedience Foundations Course and runs for 3 weeks and we highly recommend you do this with your dog. Everything you have learnt in the Obedience Foundations Course will be implemented and tested in high distraction environments and in close proximity to dogs and people. This is not a stand alone course for new clients and must be done in conjunction with the Obedience Foundations Course.

All equipment you used in the Obedience Foundations Course and:
ET-300 Mini educator Remote Collar or Mini Educator FT-330 Finger Remote Collar (has a ring you can use as a controller). Please see here for discount and search the websIte by the brand “Educator”, you can get 5% off here using this link:
We don’t really want you to use other brands as these are proven, tested, have a waterproof floating controller and collar, and work up to an 800m range!

This is for those of you who have already completed the Obedience Foundation or Puppy School Course and would like a refresher. This option includes Obedience Foundations & Off Leash Extras course. No new clients will be accepted for this course.
